BD Diesel
This upgraded transmission is built to handle up to 300% more power and torque than stock while significantly improving drivetrain durability. It features all-new bushings, a redesigned valve body, revised oil circuits, and a fully rollerized geartrain to reduce friction and increase reliability.
Stock thrust washers are replaced with roller Torrington bearings to protect governor solenoids, while a drilled intermediate shaft and modified manual valve ensure proper lubrication in all gear positions. 47RE units are upgraded with stronger 48RE components, including new input shafts and hub assemblies, eliminating shuttle shifting while maintaining firm, controlled shifts at lower RPM and lighter throttle input. An upgraded governor pressure transducer and cooler line case saver are included for added protection.
Clutch capacity is increased with heavy-duty clutches featuring up to 25% more friction material, machined pressure plates and pistons, a high-temperature Raybestos band, and billet band and accumulator components. Additional protection is provided by a BD auxiliary full-flow filter kit.
Clutch counts include Forward (5) and Direct (6), making this transmission a proven solution for high-power, high-torque diesel applications.
